In this text, the author examines whether and to what extent, the Commission may or must take account of competition and integration, in its exemption policy under Article 85, para 3 of the EEC Treaty. The subject is approached from the theoretical side. The first four chapters examine whethre the EEC Treaty and the integration model contained therein offer the Commission the room to apply Article 85, para 3 in the manner that has been indicated. The following three chapters each contain a case study relating to industrial, monetary and cultural policy respectively. The last chapter synthesizes the theoretical and the practical parts.en
