The article focuses on the relationship between the Grand Crown Chancellor, Jan Zamoyski and the voievode of Moldavia, Ieremia Movila within the context of the Polish-Moldavian relations at the end of the sixteenth century. By tracing back their interaction from its beginnings in the 1580s to the crisis of early 1600s, the author tries to show that the political cooperation between the Moldavian voievode and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth relied on the patron-client ties that bound Movila and Zamoyski together, and analyses the measures that Zamoyski took to better integrate his Moldavian client into his own patronage network.en
