This article aims at exploring the European reception of Carlo Denina’s Rivoluzioni d’Italia. This work, published in Italian between 1769 and 1771 had a significant circulation in France and England and a lot of translations were realised in the 1770s. Trying to combine different approaches (cultural history of translations, book history, material bibliography), in this paper we will focus the attention on a comparison between the French and the English translation, in order to reflect on the role played by translators and publishers in the “manipulation” of the original text.en
