Judicial cooperation and judicial dialogue is not just a question of studying and citing judgments from other courts. A genuine dialogue requires some reciprocity and an exchange of views and experiences. The E.C.J., for its part, is actively engaged in an on-going series of contacts and discussions with other courts and their judges. Judge Rosas provides a taxonomy of various patterns of judicial dialogue, and sketches the role of the ECJ therein.en
