Abstract
From Publisher: Drawing from rationalist and constructivist approaches, the book examines the impact of the EU on the polity, policies and politics of Cyprus. Driven primarily by political concerns and the need to secure a viable solution to the Cyprus problem, membership has also served as a catalyst for significant reforms in the executive, legislative and judicial authority, political parties and public opinion, economy, agricultural and regional policy, foreign policy and home affairs. At the same time, it has brought challenges but also opportunities for this small state in the Eastern Mediterranean periphery of the EU.
