dc.description.abstract	The book traces the emotional lives of same-sex loving men and women in West Germany since the 1950s. Based on oral history interviews as well as gay and lesbian magazines, it argues that there was no clear-cut liberalization dynamic leading from the post-war situation of intense stigmatization to the dynamics of normalization gaining ground since the 1980s. The emotional complexity of everyday lives shows that stigma, emancipation and normality were rather occurring simultaneously and that this complex situation characterizes LGBTIQ* lives in the present-day as well.	en
