dc.description.abstractRussia's brutal aggression in Ukraine continues, with no end in sight to the war. Although Russia has not directly attacked NATO countries, its hybrid attacks, such as sabotage operations and cyber-attacks, have intensified. The risk of escalation to a direct war between Russia and NATO cannot be underestimated. The growing crisis in Europe also has a direct impact on security in the Asia-Pacific. Russia and North Korea are increasing their mutual military assistance. This cooperation has had a negative effect, which simultaneously increases tensions in Europe and on the Korean Peninsula. Although China has not supplied Russia with lethal weapons, it has provided Russia with military-operational materials. China and Russia are also expanding joint military training and patrols in Asia. This policy brief analyses how the crisis in Europe and Asia may unfold in the future, while also shedding light on security cooperation by China, Russia, and North Korea. It examines the risk of war breaking out simultaneously in Europe and Asia, leading to World War III.en
