Abstract
In 1957 Branisłaŭ Ržeŭski, a lecturer from Hrodna Pedagogical Institute, was arrested and sentenced for alleged „anti-¬Soviet agitation and propaganda”. Otherwise loyal Soviet citizen, decorated veteran of anti-¬Nazi partisan warfare, Ržeŭski had protested against Russification and expressed his anti-¬Stalin sentiments in letters. The letters were sent to the Belarusian Academy of Sciences and some other institutions. While in confinement (until 1961) Ržeŭski tried to revert court ruling in his case and sent appeals to the Central Committee of the Communist Party. One of such appeals is published here; its text is taken from a copy stored in the State Archives of the Russian Federation.
