Abstract
This research was written in joint cooperation with Mrs. Guoqiong Sun (who majored both in Literature in Shanghai, East China University, and in Genoa University, Law Faculty) after analysing several sources in Italian and Chinese languages. This essay focuses on the presence of Italians in China from the end of the 19th century until the collapse of the Italian military forces in 1943. This is a field of studies that has so far been neglected by the existing canon of literature in this area. Moreover, there is no relevant Chinese monograph on the subject.
