In this working paper we map the literature on refugee integration in Europe as part of our work for the GLIMER project which seeks to understand how localities are responding to the so-called 'refugee crisis'. We present an account of trends in the literature by focusing on some of the outcomes and conclusions of notable recent studies in an attempt to build a broad picture of recent research on refugee integration in Europe. In order to do so, we identify a selection of outputs that can be considered as some of the most salient recent approaches to studying the incorporation of refugees, particularly in a comparative perspective. We focus on the areas of housing, language, the labour market and gender with the aim of not only providing a useful review for fellow researchers working on this topic, but also a resource for policymakers and those dealing with refugees and integration on the ground.en
