dc.description.abstract | This article offers an international history of welfare ideas and practices in the intermediary space of Luxembourg by retracing the early phases of the Kannerschlass, an innovative pedagogical establishment for children in distress based in a Luxembourgian village close to the French border. It reveals how the institution was able to develop a unique didactic project under municipal ownership after the Second World War, thanks to international exchanges. This was largely the initiative of the directors, educators and policymakers who creatively amalgamated international pedagogical approaches in their practice in the Kannerschlass. | |
