Abstract
During the recent crises (Covid-19 and Ukraine), the EU developed a number of policies and instruments representing a break with past practice and revamping the discussion on European public goods. The urgent needs associated to the supply of vital services and the acceleration of a series of macrotrends (e.g. digitalization and climate change’s adaption) will require a new understanding on how European Public Goods are defined, financed and distributed among all European citizens, also in forms of services of general interest. This panel will explore the concept and contours of European public goods, the key role of developing “own resources” at EU level in this regard and how, in the context of their distribution through publicly or privately managed platforms, the EPCs will have a key role on creating more cohesion in Europe.
