The 2001-2002 crisis in Argentina produced an increased popular unrest. In Buenos Aires it took thousands of urban middles class persons to organized neighborhood assemblies all around the city. Based on the findings of a 13 months ethnographic comparative two-case study, this article presents a synthesis of the main typical-ideal characteristics of the two flanks that composed the assemblies’ movement in Buenos Aires during it whole existence.
