Translated from Italian by Claude Sophie MAZEAS
This chapter looks at radicalization processes in Italy in the 1970s, addressing the interactions between (new left) social movements, (right-wing) counter-movements and the state. The theoretical model suggests a relational and constructivist approach to political violence, that addresses the interactions between different actors as well as at the social construction of the external reality. Trial records as well as life history interviews are used in the empirical analysis of the Italian case.en
