This study reports on the state of consumer law and practice in 6 Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, FYROM, Montenegro, Serbia). It pays particular attention to how these countries have adapted their consumer law in accordance with the EU acquis in the hope that it has permitted the studied countries to assume a more activist role in protecting their consumers, especially following the civil war in this unfortunate region.en
