Energy regulation in Europe : the politics of regulation and regulatory policy revisited

Abstract

In the first part, the author describes the evolution of European Union politics of regulation since liberalization of network industries and provides a critical assessment of its major shortcomings. The second part discusses the importance of consistent regulatory policies that take into account new technologies and increasingly complex public policies.
