The economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis will be immense, and governments across the EU as well as EU institutions have already announced measures to support people and economic activity. This panel will discuss the short and long-term economic outlook, and the appropriate policy response and questions which need to be addressed at a national and EU level. Is the ECB doing enough to maintain liquidity? What should a recovery fund look like? What will the long-term implications of such measures be? Is the response at national level adequate and well-targeted? Does the European response go far enough to maintain liquidity and support the recovery?
