This first pandemic of the data society raises the disturbing question of to what extent we have the infrastructure and, above all, the right concepts to understand and combat it. We must start from the realisation that data is not neutral, and our data collection systems have blind spots. This difficulty of having good information is exacerbated by the fact that we live, as is often said, in a post-truth era. To address these difficulties, a conceptual shift is proposed away from measuring society by the notion of the majority towards a greater focus on groups and individuals.en
