Just under 76.5 million Americans voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 United States (U.S.) Presidential elections. That is just over 2 million more Americans who voted for Trump in 2020 and just under 3 million more than voted for Trump’s Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris. Moreover, according to a large survey of the electorate done by the Associated Press, American voters were enthusiastic about the choices they made. More than two-thirds in all age groups insisted they voted ‘for’ their candidate rather than ‘against’ their opponent, up from just 60 percent in the 2020 elections. Most voters do not believe that Donald Trump is either honest or trustworthy and they do not believe he has the moral character to be President, but they do not believe Kamala Harris is honest or trustworthy either. The difference is that most voters believe Trump is a strong leader who is able to handle a crisis; most voters do not believe Harris is either. Most important, more than two-thirds of the electorate want change.
