This contribution was delivered on the occasion of the EUI State of the Union in Florence on 7 May 2015.
This panel focuses on the use of technological innovations in urban security by European local authorities. The SURVEILLE project covers end-user perspectives and has involved a panel of European police officers as well as the European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS). This panel asks how mayors can play a role in the European discussion on security and freedom. Participants will show how their cities make use of new opportunities and technologies to improve the quality of life and the security of citizens.en
