The 2021 edition and tenth anniversary of The State of the Union, the EUI’s annual summit for high-level reflection on the European Union was held on 6 and 7 May 2021 as a hybrid format. The theme “Europe in a Changing World” fostered high-level debate discussion and audience engagement on 8 key topics: Artificial Intelligence, Climate, Geopolitics, Global Economy, Multilateralism, Peace and Human Rights, Public Health and Strategic Autonomy. The programme also included 11 Fringe Events organised by The State of the Union’s partners and internal and external stakeholders. The 2021 edition of The State of the Union (SOU2021) concluded with a special in-person event #SOU4YOU – Bringing the State of the Union Closer to Citizens at the Roman Theatre in Fiesole on the afternoon of 8 May.
