This paper provides evidence of the variety of restrictions to data transfers imposed over time across 150 countries. It presents a taxonomy of the different types of data localisation policies enriched by examples of laws implemented globally and provides aggregated statistics for these policies, highlighting sectoral and regional trends. By enhancing transparency, the paper aims to facilitate empirical research and trade policy discussions related to data flows.en
