As the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is felt across Europe and the world, this panel will address questions relating to the health emergency and its societal implications. What are the factors that will determine the projected short and long-term development of the pandemic? What are the prospects for better testing and a vaccine? What are the best containment and suppression public health strategies? How can governments manage national public health systems under extreme stress? What is the role of the EU and international organisations in this respect?
